Now I don't mind paying to park, but I would like to know why I am paying to support another villages' football club (Tatlisu)? Especially when we watched the Bellapais Abbey car park ''cleaner' tip all of his rubbish over the edge down the ravine and it all blew back over the car park again! Why not use the monies collected to get some decent cleaning and repairs done at this major tourist attraction?

Did you report this low-life? If not, no wonder the TRNC is fast becoming a toilet.

It's not another villages' football club.

Copy/pasting from my explanation on another board:

Tatlisu Spor Kulubu is actually the small coffee shop type place on the right just before you get to the Abbey and it's the "clubhouse" of the Bellapais Football Team. The Tatlisu football club was formed in the village of Mari back in 1950 and the villagers settled in Bellapais in 1976, bringing their football club with them which kept it's original name.

They have a website http://www.thosk.org/ - unfortunately it's only in Turkish. But for those of you who speak the language they have the history of the club there, and to my surprise a photo of the original Tatlisu Football team - my grandfather is bottom right!

3YTL is hardly expensive for parking, especially when parking is usually such a problem in the village. Might make things a bit easier to have someone in charge of the place!

3tl = £1.20 all day

My local council want to charge me £1 for 1 hour and I pay £1400 council tax lets get things into perspective.

I was at Bellapais a few weeks ago and yes it smelt like a toilet ....a very clean toilet jasmin, bourgonvilla and other sweet smelling fragrances wafting all around.

get a grip you lot !!

Would love to see how much of the money ends up with the football club after the Belapais bandits have had their hand in the purse, was thinking of building Toll booths on the Lapta Rd for a well diggers fund, no doubt that will be the next dubios fiddle on the cards.

I hear that this car park is run by the owner of the Tree of Idleness.

In may I needed to pay whilst I bought a ticket for a concert the next day. I thought maybe we wouldn't have to pay in the evening for the concert. rong, the same braindead moron was there again. When I asked why it cost 50% more than central Girne he thought for a millenium and decided everything was cheaper in the city!

I just did a rough calculation based on 200 days a year and came up with over £18000. Are they building up a transfer fund to buy players??

I think that "The Tree" now makes enough not to need my custom.

Thanks for the explanation AllyTT message 6, I will pass this on to my UK visitors.

It's not the amount I am questioning, but the principle of being forced to pay to support a football club every time we visit Bellapais, even for the wonderful concerts.

The railings, bins and benches are vandalised and there is rubbish being tossed into the ravine daily even by your own village's 'employees'. Is this another example of that well known malaise Cypriot Litter Blindness?

BreezyBoy..If it costs 3ytl a day to park, which it does, based on 200 days, that makes it 600ytl @2.5=£240.Where do you get £18000 from???I paid 3ytl in Girne for 3HOURS last week.Perhaps I am missing something here BreezyBoy.Would you care to explain to this old fuddy duddy...

Turtle..Was there last week and it was lovely, except for a couple of tourists who did not like the idea of paying the 3ytl so parked right on the bend as you turn left to go to car park.Caused chaos for about 30 mins until they brought them out of a cafe and told them to move their cars..

Hi Coachie

I just knew someone would ask.I am talking about the takings.

Nobody stays there all day.

The car park I reckon holds 40 cars.

I worked on 30 spaces being filled 2.5 times a day. 1 morning 1 afternoon and .5 evenings.

These are all conservative figures and when there in May it was full both times.

3ytl x 30 x 2.5 x 200 = 45000ytl @ 2.49 ytl to £1= £18072.29 per annum .

Same week in the main car park in Girne was 2ytl, I used it 3 times. Anyway at the same time the lower car park in Bellapais was free and half empty. So my only moan is who has the right to charge anybody for such parking for a dubious cause. It does not cost this sort of money to run a village football club.

So where does it all go????

The view is beautiful from the car park bushes in flower the butterflies were in abundance and the 4 4by 4 tyres and the effes bottles and cans are a disgrace .

No I do not want a little Britain just do not treat the country as a tip

The bins are emptied twice a week and most things go in the bins unlike the UK where I have had to move out the house to make room for the bins .

Thanks for the history on the team Ally TT where do they play and when does the season start?
