Went into Starling in Lapta the other day & noticed that they had removed all of the prices in the freezer cabinets. Asked the staff, to be told: The manager doesn't want prices on anything in there. Told him that a lot of ex pats have the policy of no price... no sale. He said he would inform his manager so hopefully, they will all be priced again before long. In the meantime, I gave the cabinets a wide berth.

We shop in the same supermarket once in a while, what items are you wanting to know the price for, may be able to give you some help!

Really do not want to state the obvious but have you tried taking the unpriced item to the till and asking how much ? I know it is irksome the item not being priced but that is a Cypriot thing.

Happy Shopping

So if I wanted to buy 30 frozen items, I would have to either run backwards & forwards for twenty minutes, or fill up my trolley and ask the price of each individual item at the till (running back with the ones I think are too expensive) Codger??? NOTHING is now priced in the freezers.

Message 4 - Ailletoo, yes there is a Starling supermarket in Lapta, it is on the main road as you drive through, you cant miss it.

Mia100max until they have fixed the issue (which in Cyprus, will take some time) you should try Tempos or Lemars which are a bit further up the road

Hos Bes I think thats the name, its a little further up the road past Lapta , on the mainroad, very reasonable for frozen stuff, not much good for fresh veg , but got most things in the little store that the English like, ie weatabix, most sauces, and lots of frozen food that the others dont stock.

kofaliking, yes its run by a family of turks, and is on the left when on main road to guzelyort. It is quite small but has plenty of frozen stuff etc. We use this market as it always has the Daily mail in and the bread is gorrrrrrgous,

I have the same policy, no price displayed, I don't buy. I was also overcharged in that Starling. I went back with my receipt and showed her the price on the shelf. She was soooo grumpy, and finally and very begrudgingly almost threw the 2.80tl at me, no apology, nothing!
