I am very glad to hear that as just got a deal with them for 1st time.

They have a good deal on at present, and were recommended by this

I have been using A-one for 1 year now - long term hire 6 weeks at a time - always get a very good deal from them and have recommended them to lots of friends who have all been pleased with the service. Nice to hear of a company that gives good service & doesn't rip people off!

I am not so pleased with them. Used them for first time in July and I booked the special offer pick-up

from Larnaca £25 each way with 7 days car rental. When I came to pay he told me the offer was only

if you took the car for 10 days or more. So, despite what was agreed on internet I paid up. Then found

an Irishman who had got the offer at 7 days paying in Euros (which were not even worth as much then)

I have heard they have done this to others, offering different rates, and I could have got them much more

business but will not now, or use them again.

I have to say that last month we spent over 3 weeks there and I used aone for the first time. Ismail and his crew are very reliable and obliging, and although I had to pay a high-season rate, he gave me a larger car to use when I needed to pick up some friends from Larnaca, and didn't charge any more than the small car rate I was already paying.

I'll go back there again next time.

Agree with Mes 6.

Used them 3 times before no problem but last time(August) was a nightmare

My wife and family travelled on there own as i was stranded at work for a few extra days

The airport pick up was 75 minutes late, normaly the hire car is waiting in the drive when we arrive, but not this time....dropped off at Catalkoy and given a clapped out Focus estate(arranged for a Hyndai Matrix) with no fuel in and it was after midnight, luckely there was a petrol station in Alsancak still open or they would not have made it home(Karsiyaka)

Ismail came round the next day and knocked £10 off the taxi and gave us a days free rental........but when i arrived i had alook at the contract and yes he knocked a day off but charged an extra £3 a day for insurance so

i ended up paying more than what was quoted.Anyway i just left it at that as we were not going very far in the car anyway.

2 days before going home i was stopped by Police just after Lapta strip and they informed cont

O dear, usually have Sun car hire, but very expensive. I have just booked Aone for ten days in November. I hope it isn't a case of you get what you pay for.

well after specifically asking for aar seat and booster seat in the taxi for my grandsonsaged 2 and 5 I emailed him 3 times as well, turned up at Larnaca airport no car seats. Not a great start especially for such a long journey NOT IMPRESSED you get what you pay for cheap rate cheap service.

Hi all,

I had the same problem as Phylray, used aone in July and they charged me more than we agreed for the airport pickup. On top of this when I got to their office, they didn't have the car I had asked for and I was given an old clapped out banger. I will not use them again.

Sporty,

Yes, they gave me a permission paper, but I had to go through the border a couple of days before to pay the insurance fee and tax to allow us to take it through on the Saturday (the insurance booths are closed on the weekends).

But it all worked out OK.

We went to NC in July 2010 and booked three cars with "a-one Rent A Car" as well as airport pickup. We also had three babies travelling with us, and we will NOT make the same mistake of booking with a-one Rent A Car.

One of the vehicles they picked us up in from the airport did not have A/C and it was roasting outside. Then they said they will take us to their office for the cars, not the Villa as we had already agreed. After much debate, they agreed to drop us off at the Villa. When we got there our cars were waiting for us. But hang on, we had specifically booked automatic cars... the cars they had waiting for us were two hammered old manual bangers and one decent car. We tried to unlock one of the bangers and the whole key mechanism popped out. The A/C on these cars also didnt work and they were filthy. It was like they were picked up from the local tip.

I would NOT RECOMMEND "a-one Rent A Car"!

I see that this post is 18 months old, and AliAli has taken 5 months to lodge his complaint. Since my previous post I've been back to Aone 4 or 5 times, and not once have I experienced anything but the best of cars and service.

I guess there will always be someone who has a bad experience, but what Ali has written smacks more of a paperback novel than a real happening. I'd love to read a reply from Aone, but I don't think Ismail ever bothers responding to criticism.
