I look after a friends villa 2 doors away which he lets out in the summer. 07.30 this morning had a visit from a gentleman who is renting it. Complaint 1. The bed is too hard I have a bad back so I politely suggest tongue in cheek he takes a lilo to bed. Complaint 2. The air-con bleeps in the night and keeps him awake, sorry different from mine will e-mail owner and see if he has manual. Complaint 3. Pool is cloudy and has bugs. Ok pool company come tomorrow will have a word but bugs will clear when it starts to overflow. About 1 hour later wife phones "We have no water in villa"

Ok still smiling I go up tank about 1/3rd full no problem I will take from irrigation tanks and put into house tank, problem pump not working s..t Bouganvillae has grown round the pump and is behind the water tank, smile slowly dissapearing goes home gets gloves and secatuars cuts down the said plant. Mmmm pump still not working so checkes floater switch in tank, looks Ok . So kicks pump, cuts toe pump

Now working. Man and wife says thanks but you have to take the bouganvillae away you can't leave it there. No longer smiling moves the said plant grits teeth, now going inot hibernation for the rest of their stay. Tourists who would have them! No they are not Brits but a fair haired race from Europe. Not Dutch or German!

What a day and its not even lunch time.

oh nurseawful, not like you not to speak out. They must have got you on a good day. Hope you have ordered a new softer bed and sent the bill to the owner. Hope your toe is on the mend, if not I know a really good surgically trained nurse good with dressings.

No 1 Doyen

I think maybe a good old fashioned Glasgow Kiss would do it, although I am too much of a lady to do it myself !

Christina,

you are very selfish. what else would you have to do today. If your neighbours holiday makers are in trouble then help them.

I will not be asking you to keep an eye on our villa. !!

Oh you poor thing Christina, the heat can make things twice as bad too, things that wouldn't normally bother you can really get you down when it's hot.

We had a generator while in NC, it was ok for pumping the water for showers and a small A/C unit, one day I decided to wash our bedding, everything else was turned off only the washer was on, the water went in fine, it was only then I realised the drum wasn't going round! The generator wasn't powerful enough, I had to hand wash all the bedding, and rinse it all, no plugs in the sink of course and no baths in the Villa (That would have been easy washing in a bath).

Got it all done and hung it on the line..........................The line snapped!!!! Had to do it all again, I was not happy!

yep,i've had one of those days too, 5 tenants moved out of one of our places this week, spent all day down there cleaning up etc, hardly a lightbulb working, sofa buggered up,lots of decorating to sort out, door on the cooker mis-alligned and the knobs singed brown because of it,they let the gas card run out so no hot water,i had to reset the boiler, took 6/7 times to get the gas coming through so it would ignite, got 2 beds to repair,a burn on a brand new carpet,2 out of the 5 never paid their last months rent,1 has taken his keys with him so i may have to change 3 locks, and wait for it the crowning glory-the garden shed on the patio was stacked up with binbags full of rotting rubbish that the lazy barstewards didnt put out for the binmen!!lovely eh!!I need another holiday in NC!!
