Monday, 29 june, 19.30 hrs, Lefkoşa, in the Ministry of Tourism, near the Selemiye Mosque (entrance free).

I'll do two readings for the "Turkish Cypriot Union of Tourist Guides".

One about "The Middle Ages in Cyprus or better: Cyprus in the Middle Ages" and another one about the "Forgotten Fourth Fortress" in the Kyrenia mountain ridge (shortened version).

The talks will be in English and Turkish (translator).

If you are interested, call Mustafa Tolgalı (organising tour guide) about availability of seats: 05338604046.

This message also appeared in the Turkish language news paper "Kıbrıs".

An illustrated lecture about the "Forgotten Fourth Fortress", given in the TRNC Ministry of Tourism (Lefkoşa), attracted more than 100 licensed TRNC Tour Guides. The lecture by Hans Doeleman, with special maps and pictures, was given on invitation by KITREB (the Cyprus Turkish Tourist Guides Association).

The text, spoken in English by Hans Doeleman, was translated into Turkish for a percentage of the guides who didn't speak English. This was Ibrahim Kalyoncu's (Bellapais guide) task, who did a fabulous job! Thanks, Ibrahim!

I'd like to thank the organisers of the evening, KITREB, for the interest and the friendly welcome! How nice to meet Cypriot Turks in a cultural event!

Many guides joined the Medieval Cyprus Fellowship afterwards - I'm proud to bid you welcome!

More info about the "Medieval Cyprus Fellowship": email mcf.trnc@gmail.com or call: 05338415410.
