Can anyone help with regards to the cost of running a 10 x 5 overflow pool. If possible we would like to know what we should expect to spend on water and chemicals for one year.

Any comments/help much appreciated.

what chemicals you use will determine the cost. a 10x5 overflow if you was going to maintaine your own pool and use Zerochlor would cost you .7x1ltr bottles of zerochlor @ £22 a bottle, plus 1x25kg of regen which is a oxodizer for the water,in simple terms a sparkler for your water.£90 for your regen/oxodizer.depending on how sparkley you want your water determines how much regen /oxodizer you use!

that would give you a totally chlorine free swimming pool.

if you wanted to use chlorine i would say your costs may well be around the same,or maybe a touch less.

take a look at our website

thanks and i hope you enjoy your pool no matter what you decide to use!

Telsey,

I don't think anyway near as much as that for the chlorine etc.

I'm sure someone else will clarify this a bit later, if not, I 'll ask hubby.

Your running costs will also include electrcity, whichever method you use to sanitise your pool. Electricty cost at flat rate will be about 25 pounds per month at 8 hours per day with a 1hp pump.

If you like the idea of low/no chlorine take a look at

http://www.aligator.co.uk

Cost for this system is 850 pounds supplied and fitted. This will take care of your chemicals barring a tablespoonfull of chlorine a week as an oxidiser.

Water for topping up your swimming pool costs in the region of 8 - 10tl a ton; we have just topped our pool with 10tons x 8tl = 80tl. Really depends on how much you loose through evaporation or dare I say leakage.
