Are there any football mad young teens Lapta/Karsiyaka area.

We are moving out there in August and I thought it may help the settling in process if my son could 'chat' to any like minded teens already there.

There are local footy teams, but most players are Turkish. The best chance he is going to have of meeting like minded lads is when school starts. I like in Karsiyaka and dont see that many english kids.

But it wont take him long once he starts school as everyone out here is easy to get on with!

Good luck on your move

hi, i am a student at Sunny Lane School. i went to lapta football team about 1 year ago and the people there were quite friendly. Although the actual school itself has a football team and so i just stayed with the school football. What school will your son be going to as i am 14 nearly 15 myself and i will be going into year 10 in septemeber. The school really needs some keen footballers and would be welcomed.

Thanks

My young sister is also starting sunnylane in september. Shes 15 already but having come from UK she has had to drop back a year, so she will be starting year 10 instead of year 11.

So i guess all 3 of you will meet up! Along with a few others i heard are starting at the same time!

I think your sister has already contacted us via face book. I left details at the school office in case any newbees wanted to get in touch. Easier to get over first day nerves if you have a bit of company.

Thanks Spider.

They are lucky young things. Bit scary for them, but what an opportunity.

Thats right!

Be nice if they can meet up before school starts. We'll be there on Sept 1st.

How is she finding it so far...?

yeh she loves it. Shes sunbathing and swimming alot right now.

Shes got a real interest in Kyrenia Animal Rescue, a place where you can play with and walk dogs that have bee taken in. Shes hoping to get some volunteer work in there over summer and on weekends.

If your son likes dogs, i recommend a trip over there!

Yeh im sure we can arrange for them to meet up before starting school - we live in same area so will be easy enough!

We all like dogs but having to leave our two behind is heartbreaking, even though they are with family. We come over a lot and know how tempting it would be to rescue a dog. Is it possible to go to KAR and just look? Dont think I could, so best I stay clear of the place.

Glad Rhiann is making the most of the hols. Say Hi for us.

http://www.kyreniaanimalrescue.org for the information.

Good luck on moving out, and probably see you in a few months!
