We have bought in northern cyprus but how safe will our investments be if there is a reunification of the island,what if they allow all the greek cypriots to claim there land and properties back,any ideas? raybo

The way I always look at it is in theory I bought exchange land so if someone from south want's the land I've purchased then there is a piece of land in the south I can have in exchange (and probably worth a hell of a lot more than mine is). Now trying to put that into practice would be another story.

hi guys

first of all Turkey will never leave north cyprus out to dry why do you think turkey has not been acepted in to the e.u as far, because one of its reasons is because of the cyprus situation and turkey's army will only then leave if turkey and north cyprus belive a satisfactory outcome can prevail, not to sure about the settlers because they have migrated in to cypriots with cyprus kimliks (id papers), the same can be said about the south side they have plenty of greek mainlanders living in the south and the army from greece get automatically south cypriot nationality

as for homes being safe if they ever unify im sure both sides will come to a amicable agrement that compensation will paid out to people who can prove they have land on either side and you wont have a greek cypriot knocking on your door demanding you get out firstly they will encouraged to take compansation or will be offered land somewhere else close to where they lost land because if they do unify then the turkish side will reconised as part of the e.u and they will hold more rights and you cant just kick someone out of their home because then it will become a human rights violation!!!

so in my view and many people i have spoken to about this, people have nothing to fear you will have rights!!!!
