Hi, we are bringing my son and his family out to stay with us in our house for the first time, at the end of August. Problem is that the children - boy aged 8 and girl aged 12 (going on 21) - have only ever stayed in hotels where there are other children and entertainment. I think they will be OK with the pool, beach and so on in the day time but I would welcome any suggestions about where to take them in the evenings. Thanks

I have a friend with a 13 year old daughter coming out last 2 weeks in August, worried she will be bored. Do you fancy getting together? We are in Lapta/ Baspinar. Email me if interested.

I have a happy mental picture of Nanny and Gramps, Mum and Dad and the kids sitting down and playing monopoly or scrabble having had a day that wears them out at the beach or in the pool. And yes it happens now and again. But the reality..bring their Wii, laptops and portable DVD players.

Can I add...For your peace, not theirs. Nothing worse than having your holiday ruined by their boredom

The waterpark in Lapta (Lapethos aqua park) may be a good idea. It's an OK waterpark, food is served, and popular amongst both locals and brits.

My 16 year old grand-daughter came out for 2 weeks with her mum in April. I thought she might be bored, she loved it, especially the shopping arcades in Lefkosia. Keeps asking when she can come back.

Thanks for all of the suggestions - Pogle, I have emailed you off line. Minertor, I too would like to know where the arcade in Lefkosia is and what sort of shops they have there.
