Water?? Can it be harmful to drink too much water?? I have spent the day cooking by a pool and got a tad burnt, and must have drank 3 large bottles of water, and now i feel like i'm sloshing around all over the place!! I can't eat and have a very nasty belly ache, is it too much water??

Yes daisy dukes, you can drink too much water, it actually can harm the in balance of the brain, nurseawful can tell you more I expect, but dont worry this time, but can be dangerous. If you drink 3 bottles you will be sitting on the loo later lol

Daisy, don't make yourself sick, that won't help. Relax, it'll pass soon.

Oh daisydukes, wish I could do something for you, it will pass, but never do that again. Please can this be a warning to others who drink water and not know the dangers of excess. It sounds the right thing, drink plenty, but how much is plenty? lol

Apparently, you can drink, safely, around 5 litres a day and that wants some doing. The answer is to drink the water over the course of a day, i.e. from when you get up until when you go to bed.

Daisy - as others have said, it will pass and the worse thing you can do is make yourself sick. Let nature take its course.

Hope you soon feel better.

Sounds like slight sun stroke to me. Boil a little rice in yogurt and eat.

Daisy - I think Richard is right. Have you got a bath? If yes, try running a cool bath and have a soak.

Drill a hole in her belly button coachie? she is feeling pretty sick man, cannot see her picking up a drill, also it would be very dangerous as when all the water comes gushes out she might electrocute herself!!! worse than ever mess she will have got herself into.

DD

Hope you are okay this morning, was out last night so didn't see this until just now. It's not as much a case of how much water you drink it is the fact that you drank it too quick. In this heat it is better to take frequent drinks all day that to go out and guzzle it by the bottle.

I often laugh when people say you can only drink so many litres per day, go into any pub and you will see men drink pint after pint after pint. If you are still feeling poorly this morning e-mail me.

Water in its raw state can be very bad for you.

Only drink it after its been processed by fermentation or distillation.

Let this be a lesson to all, stay safe drink beer.

DD Hope you are feeling better this morning.

Morning everyone.....well last night was quite simply a nightmare, at about 3am, i couldn't take it anymore, so i did end up making myself sick, oddly not much came out, but i was left shivering and sweating, which could have been a slight case of sunstroke, but nevertheless i was left very poorly, and this morning i still have cramps on the left side of my body but i think the worst is now over....

This have given me quite a shock, i never knew water could make you so ill, there really ought to be warnings about drinking too much water, so I hope whoever reads this thread will take note, and drink carefully...honestly, it really was an awful night. Again thank you all for your help....i wont be doing this again in a hurry, maybe i should stick to shandies from now on!!

Hi DD, so glad to hear you are ok today, it really frightened me last night as I had read about the effects drinking water to fast in big quantities can do. Another woman has died with doing just this as she was on a diet and thought that by drinking her daily allowance all in one go would be fine, but it upset the inbalance in her body as she was only tiny she died with brain swelling soon after.

But it sounds like you had a touch of the sun that made you ill, still all the best, just glad you are ok, lol

Lilli, soon as i can get a date, i shall be coming in to see you for some gorgeous duck pate!
