Can anyone tell me how I can send a letter recorded delivery to north cyprus. Saw on post about contract registration that someone recommended using DHL,but see on their website only deliver to the south. The address would pose a problem as Mersin is the address, therefore whoever delivers would have to get a signature there.but that is not final destination plus address would not match any known in Mersin.

Try the Post Office They do an International 'signed for' service, we have sent all our doccuments via this method, and delivery has usually been made within a week. It cost us £3.90 to send our new POA a few weeks ago.

You can only track a letter/parcel only till it leaves the UK. We tried this and the documents got lost, when you try and speak to the Post Office they say they have no tracking system once out of the country ?

Yes thanks to suntanman I used the 'signed for' service. It took 2 weeks and cost £4.04 for POA to arrive. Lyn

many thanks. Unfotunately nobody I know is going over in the next couple of months. Phoned royal mail and they say about a week but problem, if any, is after its passed over to turkey for ongoing to TRNC as they have no control,so from what you all say, it appears its down to luck as far as time is concerned. Not happy that your mail disappeared turtle,I have already been informed that a document I sent end January has disappeared, took all this time for me to be informed, and now another one has to be sent from trnc and whole thing starts over. Will phone Royal Mail again tomorrow regarding tracking,

Many thanks for info ,and special thanks to you Avril, for your offer. Rtddci has kindly volunteered to take the letter . Its something I had not thought about before, the problem thrown up by not being recognised by the postal authorities.Silly really, everybody knows Mersin 10 is trnc, same as everyone knows CTA flight 111 to istanbul is really CTA fliight 222 to TRNC via Istanbul.
