For a select few I have been known to give away freebies.

Discounts are for people who can't afford to buy it in the first place ?

I always thought discounts were offered to tempt people to buy - surely everyone likes a 'bargain'?

Why do you have to offer a discount to sell something, why wouldnt it sell before.

Don't discounts attract more customers hence more sales?

Its a myth Jean.........the price is set to give the seller a mark-up.

Take a double glazing seller, we will give you 60% off your windows

Yes but 60% off what ?

The old salesmans trick.......buy today and I will give you an extra 10% off but this is already built into the price.

I sold a Garden Tractor this morning, I bought it prior to a price increase of 9% the guy paid the new price less 2.5%......I made another 6.5%

Jean you are smarter than that don't get taken in.

Bill - yes, well at least that's how I understood it. And some discounted products are also 'lost leaders' are they not?
