Depending on which side of the Kyrenia Mountain Range you reside, it is possible to get the BFBS Radio (The Armed Forces Radio Station), if you are on the Lefkosa side or in the Gazi Magusa area.

blackpool,

on the eatern side of the island for example there are bfbs 1 and 2 on fm

as far as I can tell, bfbs 1 which is mostly pop is available on fm, online and from one satellite

bfbs 2 is only available free on fm eg., 95.3mhz transmitted from dekhalia base near magusa:

a mixture of bbc 4 early mornings, 5 live, world service, bfbs worldwide and cyprus studio

if you are west of town, you still have the option of a roof antenna,

but a home-made fm loop can be useful anywhere for "nulling out" co-channel interference,

see the internet for several easy designs
