Ahh, I see Spider..........................Frogs eat them, so a pond in the garden might keep them away...................Please don't watch this film clip if you don't like to see bugs eaten alive, you can still go to the link. Vicki http://www.joshharris.com/2006/11/frog_eats_cicada_video.php

Actually they have no real point, YET!!, but when The TRNC Authorities get all their jobs done as per Ex Pat requirements !!!, and the noisy little ugly gits keep up their racket, then the whingeing Brit will have something to really whinge about. So to summarise they are on this planet to give reason, credence and to justify the even worse noise that is the persisting low moan emanating from whingeing Brits in Cyprus and all over the world. Whingeing Brit.

For goodness sake you lot - do stop moaning - cicadas are part of nature out here as are snakes, amazing birds, non stop barking dogs and the bells of wandering goats - do you really want the island concreted over and then the only sound you will hear is howling karaoke and on the beach instead of the rolling surf the unmistakable beat of gangsta rap. If you have a problem with sounds of nature ask yourselves why on earth you came here in the first place - maybe you all need a trip to Milton Keynes to milk one of the plastic (silent) cows! Joan (at the moment happily listening to hundreds if not thousands of cicadas in the next door graveyard) hey they have got to be better than wasps!!

Hi all, Whilst we are on the subject of bugs, whilst we lived in Italy we used to see fire flies and I did expect to see them in Cyprus but never have. Has anyone else seen them here? The butlers wife

Hi daisy dukes, We did have cicadas and scorpions as well as snakes but the fire flies were so beautiful to watch. I remember the first time I ever saw them and being quite frightened as I didn't know what they were. The butlers wife
