Last time I passed there about a month ago it was open on all sides, no doors and no windows in place and I think work has stopped. A shopping centre in the middle of nowhere. The same fate as Anphora and Marda with hardly any customers around.

Work appears to have restarted at what will be the entrance to the bazaar and the frontage growth has been tidied up. A few workmen about but not a lot happening on the actual building.

Nevertheless nice to see some activity!

Hi, they are laying paving and the windows and doors are now glazed with quite a bit of activity about. Does anyone know when they anticipate finishing the market and what the plans are for it?

I confirm what Wattys said. I drove past yesterday and saw that the builders merchants is still the only operating retail business. Been there a few weeks. As to the others, I have friends who bought one and are dying to rent it out, but as yet not a hope in h..... But progress IS being made, but can't see it being the shopping mall to end all shopping malls, can you?

I'm going 'over' in a fortnight and I live v near this - did think when they started building it that even if it was in the middle of Manchester/Liverpool/Birmingham they'd had a b****y hard job letting the place out.....

Maybe some of the money they get -allegedly - from the EEC - allegedly - are not being spent in the right places - somebody got the grant....

But let's look on the bright side, coachloads of tourists/idiots are going to be bussed over to visit the vibrant old bazzar (well it will be old by the time it gets up and running, won't it - we'll all be dead for a start). Now what will it sell, the same (made in China) stuff that Marda are selling - that used to be worth a visit until they upped their prices and you might as well import Dresdeb (ie hide it in your suitcase) and save yourself a few bob.
