A recent survey by to internet analysts GlobalNet shows that the TRNC government, local authorities, Blue Chip companies, small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs lost 80,000.000 GBP +/- 15% in investments over the last 18 months, this was primarily caused by the late or none replies to emails from potential business partners and customers who had enquired about investing in the TRNC and the goods and services available in the country. It has been estimated that customs and excise missed out on a staggering 16,000.000 GBP in duty from imports alone

GlobalNet emailed their finding to the Prime Ministry office, The Ministry of the Economy, Chamber of Commerce, and The Young Business Association in April and are still waiting a reply.

A minor point you used a , & . in the figures so are they millions or thousands of GBP (plus or minus 15% is a very poor quality stat.)

Interesting that the used GBP when international figues are usualy in USD.

From experience our small company IAH has business propositions from China, Nigeria, USA,Turkey, Russia, Kenya and elsewhwere each week and some talk millions of USD all go in the junk bin so I would be careful of the GlobalNet figure you quote and how did they get the figure of the offers made?

it isn't just TRNC.

In Feb this year I visited 6 car dealers in the Chester area with my wife's car, looking to buy a new vehicle.

Considering the state of the industry and the country as a whole, I was amazed to only receive a return call with prices from only 1 of them. The other 5 couldnt be bothered to pick up the phone!
