Hi guys

Does anyone know if it possible for a foreigner - Brit, to obtain a car on finance like you can in the UK with monthly installments?

If it is possible, any ideas on somewhere that offers this with good rates?

Any comments greatly appreciated

I would surmise that in the present car market state any main franchise garage outlet would be happy to sell a vehicle on tick.

Bought a new car at Changer mmoters in Nicosia and paid each month at the ' shop '.

If you go and ask for Kemal he speaks English and is very helpful.

Just needed proof of purchase of property ( Bill of Sale ) , passport. Drove out same day as I signed

contract.

Interest rate ar t the time was 9%. Paid first instalment on signing contract.

For Changer moters. Turn left at Nicosia roundabout, right after the third roundabout and it'a on the right.

we are based over the Catalkoy mountain road, as if you are going to Ercan airport, just before the roundabout on the left hand side next door to Mardo İcecream. You are welcome to come and have a coffee and a chat.

Bought my Freelander from Cangar on a local credit agreement, sadly I bought the wrong car for us and that is why it is up for sale - nothing wrong with the motor its just not the one we should have bought. However, there was no problem at all and not even a deposit was required. Went in with no money in my pocket and drove away in a Freelander, can't say fairer than that. Do not know what the interest was at the time but will be going with my monthly instalment tomorrow and will ask how much for a final payment - just in case anyone wants a good car at a fair price!

By the way, this is not like the UK, if you miss the payment by a week or so and have been a regular payer then they are not that worried about it. Because I only go once a month and sometimes I am up to ten days late, they do understand and there is no hassle at all - good people to deal with! Go talk to them, its not as hard as you think.

Hi Waddo,

If you don't mind me asking, why is the Freelander the wrong car for you?

I'm just curious, wether it would be the wrong car for me.

Norman1,

Honesty time again I see. I spent 25 years in the military and a lot of that time was driving around in Land Rovers, not that it should be a problem but I ended up hating anything that said ROVER on it anyway. There is nothing wrong with Freelanders or Disco's (now they have cured the leaky windscreens) or even Range Rovers (if you like a spongy ride) and the pedigree is good on all of them.

It is not because it is the K series engine either, this one has been cured of that particular manufacturers fault (at a cost of £1,000.00) and is a sound as a pound used to be.

The real reasons are that it has a gear lever and it is not a Pajero!!! We had our hearts et on a LWB Auto Pajero for our retirement and we got talked into the Freelander. That's it, no suspisious or under handed motives - it don't say Mitsubishi on the front and we don't like manual gearboxes - what more can I say?

rigsby,

No offence taken. But have to admit that a Freelander is better than walking - no offence to any other Freelander drivers either. It was a bit of a case of the rock and the hard place at the time and we thought we did not have any other options - if only I had known better - 20/20 hindsight wanted, any offers?
