I think its around 140tl, you have to pay for it at the Tax office first then take paperwork to garage, a rather back to front way of doing it I am afraid.

Ours cost 150 lira cos we let it run out, 100 lira if the old one has not expired, you go to the police to get your MOT, nothing like in UK make sure you have two warning triangles and a first aid kit,one of our friends car failed because the engine was dirty and the polceman couldn't see the engine numbers.

Don't forget that you have to have mud flaps fitted! That is a major fail point!! Bits of flappy rubber nailed/screwed into the brake pipes will do the trick and as the brakes are not tested it won't even matter if they don't work - but mud flaps are vital to the saftey on the streets................

Thanks Waddo, have got mudflaps, new numberplate about to be fitted to replace broken one, and hopefully nothing else needs doing. Went to pay at the tax office and was charged 100tl, less than expected, what a nice surprise!!
