Help! Anybody know where I can change travellers cheques ın TRNC? The bank wıll not accept them and the exchange offıce opposıte the Dome wıll not change them eıther. Have been told that there ıs nowhere ın TRNC where travellers cheques can be changed and that I would have to go to the South to do thıs!!!

There is an exchange place on the High Street on the left they will exchange them also the one on the corner next to the round tower

Friends of ours were out about 2 weeks ago and they changed their sterling travellers cheques at the small hut opposite 'El Capitano' restaurant in Alsancak.

Thanks you. Should have saıd that these are Euro Travellers Cheques from France - would ıt make a dıfference?

That may make a small difference also it might depend on who issued them i.e. Thomas Cook, HSBC, AmEx etc.

Thanks all, problem solved and all visitors happy again. Exchange office in high street did the job without turning a hair! Is Bank refused, strange.

Richard is right Msg 6.



But no one is obliged to accept travellers cheques as they are not legal tender.

Incidentialy if the issuer is out of business the person who exchanges them is at a loss.
