Is it acceptable in a democracy to allow threads to be closed without a reason been given? I draw your attention to the "If Jacko was ALIVE what will he be doing NOW ?????????" that ends with the quote of a Forum Admin "This thread is now closed. Reason: Not specified." From the reading of the thread no one was being insulting to any other member nor any rules of the board apparently broken and the thread probably had a lot more legs in it to continue to run. Just because a Forum Admin doesn't like what is being written that does not break any apparant rules, does that give them the right to close a thread?

It is a power thng ''I have control factor'' , this is one of the reasons there are less and less users on this forum .

Timothy When closing a thread a moderator has 1 of 5 defined options to quote as a reason and if none of these fit the bill then the only other option is 'Reason not specified'. AJ

Reason should be given, otherwise you get the impression it was closed because moderator didn't like/agree with what was said.

| Personaly, I think it is pretty obvious why the thread was closed as anyone with a modicum of intelligence could see that firstly it had nothing to do with the dissemination of information pertaining to the TRNC and secondly it was oviously starting to wind people up which to me was the purpose of the thread. | OK Mr. Moderator. What has 'Where's Jacko's body gone' got to do with the TRNC. Why has this and lots of other threads which have nothing to do with the TRNC been allowed to stay? |

Re message 5. ''nothing to do with the dissemination of information pertaining to the TRNC'' Does that mean you are going to close all the soccer posts as soon as they appear, and all the 'in jokes' about the mongers etc. Also the private chats between 'the regulars' who seem to think this is their own private chat room, I thought one of the rules was that if you had othe members contact detail that is how you are supposed to contact them, not clog this forum up with their own petty private chats.

Message 17 Totally agree, there are countless threads that have nothing to do with TRNC, I think it's a power thing with the moderators on here, load of little Hitlers if you ask me.

teatime, surely there is not just us two who are sick of all the private jokes and power crazed moderators, as usual it's the silent majority who have to suffer the egotistical ramblings of the self chosen few. is this ringing any bells with some of you ??

Forum Admins decisions are not to be discussed on this Forum (Rule 4 : http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/rules.asp ) You advised me to leave this Forum (in another thread) - I have some advice for you in return: respect the rules or start your own Bulletin Board.

Hans Rip already has and is doing his usual trick of trying to wind the mods up.
