I occasionally visit this site in persuit of some relevant information relating to the TRNC. However, this has become very rare as I get totally sick of reading through private conversations or totally irrelevant comments in order to find out what I logged in for. Perfect example in the recent post regarding moderators taking off the post regarding Micheal Jackson (very commendable) only for the thread to turn into a chat between Simbas and DeeCyprus about Dee's holiday in the UK. Why not get on your own e-mails to do that? This is a real shame as the concept of the site is brilliant for those living and holidaying in the TRNC but is spoilt by the regular 'in crowd' and their private chats and in-jokes.

Shaz1.

I couldn't agree more. It is always the same little mob. One of them is 'Forum admin"

If you can let me know how to find RELEVANT comments without scrolling through IRRELEVANT ones, I'll gladly not read them. Don't think so which is why I hardly ever log on. Perhaps a chat room is more appropriate for 'chats' and not an information forum?

Shaz, Did you fall out of bed with a big bump this morning?.

Seethestars......your first 5 message on the forum were a dig at deecyprus and again today....6 out 9. Seems you have a problem with her, or possibily yourself..

Yoo both seem to have a low tolerance level! how about you set up a chat line betweeen yourselves and stop being so petty.

I really can't see whats wrong with having a little friendly banter....sometimes they become rather funny...anything to break up the monotony of listening to folk going on about the blooming Cyprus Problem....

I think the motion is carried in favour of 'keep the personal drivel off of the forum' argument, or is it that the people who this applies to don't have the balls to put their head above the parapet .

Why is a Forum Admin person the worst offender when it comes to posting irrellavent, personal stuff ?

I think this all stems from this forum not having a 'chat' area or a PM (personal message) facility, it's easy to see someone post whom you have not seen for a while, and cut into the thread to ask how they are doing.

It's the quickest way.

Quite simple Dusterbruce, there is a group of about 10-12 people who think the own this forum and have a divine right to say what they like and hi-jack any thread they see fit, if you are not in their 'gang' you've got no rights !

I rest my case and won't bother daring to criticise again - yes I know the "in crowd" will be pleased. Thanks for the support of the others and your acknowledgement of the abuse of this forum. I didn't write the rules of the forum and would suggest either the wording be changed or a 'chat room' provided.

Don't you think the word 'abusing' is a little extreme....this is a forum for all users, to talk about anything they wish to....within reason of course....

When you are out with friends, it is normal practice for conversations to go 'off topic' thats what makes a conversation....so it's quite normal for 'threads' to go 'off topic' too...but it really isn't something to wind yourself up over...there are far worse things out there to get cross about.......

Tiggy,message7.

Perhaps you could explain why I would have a problem with myself?

I do have a problem with all the pathetic tittle tattle that eventually overtakes every thread on this forum.

There are also too many people who use more than one nickname as that is the only way they can defend themselves. OK Dee?

Hi Shaz , i'm sorry i caused your sickness and upset , it is not my intention to upset anyone at any time , but what exactly are you requesting ? is it that nobody chats about anything apart from NC , if thats the case you don't have to read any of the current posts , just scroll down to the bottom of the page go to the picking list and you will find that every conceivable question that can be asked , has been asked and answered a dozen times over and if we abided by the forum rules to the T most of the posts would be deleted .

I am sorry that you are upset though , Simbas

To quote Wikipedia; An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site. It is the modern equivalent of a traditional bulletin board,

I really can’t see the wrong with people chatting on here about this or that, people can always join in. Sometimes threads just develop into what appears to be people ‘having a chat’, I really can’t see a problem with that. If people don’t like what they read then move on to a post that interests you. Most of the posters on here don’t know each other; I for one have never met anyone on here. However there are some that get together and I understand they have a great time. What’s wrong with that? Living in a foreign country can sometimes be a lonely experience and I’m sure it helps to get together with likeminded people. Finally, just because it’s called Cyprus44 it doesn’t mean that every post has to be about Cyprus. I think the forum wouldn’t be as popular if every post was about Cyprus

Spot on Bill

It would be a lonely life without friends with family being so far away, without being ridiculed by postings

Msg 23....only you can answer that.

you wrote : I do have a problem with all the pathetic tittle tattle that eventually overtakes every thread on this forum.

You need to lighten up or leave the board as it seems to be upsetting you. In all the time I have been on this board I have only been conversing off line to a couple of members who I find to be really nice. As far as a "Gang" that is a right load of cobblers, the members that meet up do so for as far as I know for friendship and a good day/night out. (try it) If you want to meet a sad "gang" on here then contact Pike, suzanne and the rest of there disruptive chums. They take great delight in winding up this forum.

tittle tattle is mainly carried out be the female members....as you should be aware they can not help it!

Some may call it tittle tattle, others friendliness amongst fellow members, I do sometimes wonder why some people come on here at all because all they ever do is moan and slag people off, if they don,t like it they are welcome to either leave or just comment on the posts that interest them, simple as that.
