Does anyone know if double glazzing windows can be resealed we have a few that have condenstion between them.

If so which company can do them they will have to be done in situ because if they take them away i will have no windows.

Thanks

Tatty.

Hi Tatty,

They don't reseal them in the UK. Someone should come out and measure the panes and they will return with new panels. Take the old ones out and put the new ones in, it doesn't take very long. I am sure this is what they willl do in TRNC once you have sourced a supplier.

i dont think you have much choice but to get them replaced, the seal is probably broken on them anyway, hence the condensation,i worked on a site 20 yrs ago,we had big DGpanels delivered,in the centre on a few of them the two panes were touching and seemed stuck together, the supplier came around and drilled small holes in the side and they returned to normal! i couldnt believe it,they were puttyed in after which seem to reseal them,i dont think theyve been replaced since either.

The seal between the 2 glass anes has broken down and moisture is in the cavity. The spacer bar, the metalic bar around the perrimiter, is filled with desicate, a substance similar to the little packets found in most new items to absorbe moisture. If this desicate has absorbed moisture to its maximum then the units with show condensation. They cannot be repaired ecconomically so best to get new ones made and fitted.
