Hi All, I just want to let you all know about a delightful eatery in Karsiyaka.

Me and other half regularly go to this establishment and the Owner is a very pleasant Gentleman and is very courteous and helpful and speaks brilliant english.

The menu is not enormous but very sufficient and the prices are much lower than even the beach restaurants.

Give it a try, you will not be dissapointed.

Menu consists of such dishes as; Chicken shish, lamb shish, sea bream(chupra) pirzola(lamb chops) meatballs(sheftali) ckicken fillet(really juicy)and meze, oh and there was a special on tonight ( Chilli con carne) his wife does all the cooking herself. I have no ulterior motive, I just feel it deserves a mention and a visit.

Just past the square on left hand side going towards the Karsiyaka beach.

Yorgozlu

Coming from Lapta, go past Hos Bes supermarket, tolgas and Yigit supermarket, Attaturk Square (coffee shop) and wedding park on right, keep on main road heading for Camlibel/Kayalar and couple of hundred yards from the square you will see Benjamin Restaurant on left.

The beach in question is called Guzelyali

Yorguzlu should be aware of that as his address seems to be Karsiyaka.

Went there once and will not go back, small portions, little choice, and expensive for what you got. Its empty most evenings so that may tell you something.

But the man is nice.

Horses for courses you may like it.

We have never been let down yet by a "Mindy" recommendation, so we will give it a go next time we are over..

Give my regards to him indoors, and no, loslobos, it is not Mork from Ork.

Codger, no the plates are not overfaced but plenty if you partake of the pitta bread, this is reflected in the menu prices.

No the portions are not huge but sufficient and we were given a complimentary hummus with pitta bread which was one of the best I've tasted. With a drink each (brandy sour and beer) we paid about 35 lira for 2 and that also included 2 milky coffees. Definately worth a visit if your're in the area.

Westender

agree with you, we was given the hummus last night, yummy , the owner sat down with us for a chat later, we had an interesting discussion on NC. He will play a music track of your choice if you ask also.

We pass it regularly but always seems empty and uninviting looks a bit like a house with patio.
