take a shaker and put in some ice...pour in a hefty slug of brandy...a splash of real lemon juice, you can use limonata, but not quite so nice...a few drops of angustura bitters....and shake thouroughly to mix and cool...take a glass and run a piece of lemon aroung the edge then 'tip the edge in sugar.....pour the contents of your mix into the glass...top up with soda and add some ice....lovely ice cold brandy sour....enjoy DD

I'm sure that someone else will know a better recipie but I make it with a large shot of local brandy, lemon syrup from any supermarket top up with soda and ice. Don't forget to float a good splash of Cyprus oe Angustura Bitters on top.

Actually Ballyboffin, this is the traditional recipe...the type of brandy or juice, is left entirely up to the person making it...and i assure you this is the best way to make it... DD

oopsy...i forgot to say to decorate it with a slightly squeezed wedge of lemon. Also if you are planning a party the main part can be made in advance and kept in the fridge and when it comes to serving, just add ice and soda. Another thing you can do is, if you have a sweet tooth and would prefer it slightly sweeter, you can add a few drops of sugar syrup....most top european cocktail bars do this, but it isn't traditional and be careful not to put in too much otherwise your teeth could fall out! lol DD

as far as i can see, it's pretty much the same...except you should really stir in the bitters instead of floating them on the top as it could leave a rather nasty taste in your mouth.... I fail to see what your issue is here... DD

DD Was Message !4 directed at me? I don't have any issue. Hattikins asked a question and I answered it to the best of my knowledge, I did say that someone else would have another recipie that they use. YOU seem to be the one with issues by contradicting ME as in message 4 Lighten up woman. I'll make you a few MY way when I am back in October !!!!!

Come on folks, I asked for the recipe, we don,t need an argument, I would presume as in all things it would be a matter of personal taste.

The bitters can actually give you a very bad stomach ache . They are quite dangeous when taken in any quantity. Its all a personal taste add soda or sprite. Im told its a lovely drink but I cant do spirits only wine or fizz xxxxxxxxxxxxx
