What is Procedure for getting an MOT

Does anyone know the procedure for getting an MOT for your car here?

Do you go to the Police Station first , Tax office or Garage?

Once you have the form I assume you just go to a garage that does the emission test, or is this totally wrong?

Anyone who has knowledge of this please post on Forum as this would be useful information for everyone.

I did ask at the Tax office but did not get a very clear response.

Emission test first, tax office with the rest of your documents and money then the police station for the MOT.

Make sure your car is clean and if for any reason your car fails try and get the work done and return to the police station on the same day.

Make sure you have mud flaps fitted - major fail point that, as is having a dirty engine number that is difficult to read by the tester!

do you need all 4 wheels with mudflaps waddo?....or ,are the front wheels the only ones needed?
