I wonder if anyone can help. We moved into a villa two weeks ago and on day two came accross two puppies (thought to be Rhodisian Ridgebacks). We are now back in the UK and have, on the advice of the rescue centre, left them at the villa in a fenced in a large compound, they are fed and walked every day but the sitaution for them is far from ideal, but better than the alternative.

Where I have got to so far:-

I can't fly them back from the south or get the passport for them over there, which would be recognised in the UK. TRNC injections and passports are not reconised by the UK authorities.

If I fly them back to the UK from the TRNC the total cost including quarantine is £5,000 (not a real option).

They are in the process of having all their Jabs - Does anyone what two adorable puppies?

If I can't find a home for them in the TRNC I could drive them to to a friend in France who will get their UK passports done. Can I get to Turkey through to France?

Any ideas welcome.

get in touch with KAR office (email kar@kyreniaanimalrescue.org or tel 0090 533 869 4098) where they can give you contact details for someone who will be able to give up to date info on all travel options.

Good luck

france is not the easy route as people are led to believe.

i know someone who recently tried it and was turned back at the ferry and had to spend another 3 months there.

fly them back to the uk and do the quarantine is the best way.

or rehome them here.

Hi,

We went through this ordeal last year and didn't go ahead in the end as there will be 6 months quarantine on arrival in the UK even if you go via France. Forget France, this trick doesn't work. Cost of UK quarantine is £3k per dog.

Thanks for info but I may well leave them in France for six months while I get the passport done. How did your friend get them to France? Can they be flown there? or did they have to drive?
