Are they slightly tart? If two trees should be enough for jam or conserve. If you want recipes I can email you.

You may have enough for this

Damson Gin

Ingredients:

1lb/454gm of washed damsons

6 ozs/168gm of white granulated sugar

75cl bottle of medium quality gin

Sterilised 1 litre (at least) jar or wide necked bottle with stopper/cork

Method:

Wash damsons well and discard any bad or bruised fruit. Prick fruit several times with a fork and place damsons in either a large Kilner jar or a wide necked 1 litre bottle.

Add the sugar and top up with gin to the rim.

Shake every day until the sugar is dissolved and then store in a cool, dark place from 3 months to one year. If you are planning to drink this after 3 months, have a sip after a month, and top up with sugar to taste.

Strain it (through muslin/jelly bag) after 3 months and bottle it, leaving it mature for six months.

Mike

Sorry I have looked through my CD Collection of Michael Ball and not one of them have the song you want, god knows why as that is one of my favourites.

I agree Sandie with all this drink and the love of Mike dont think you will need that electric blanket after all.

Hi Mike

Put my name down for the tasting too! Oh and why not pick the ones off my tree & add to the mix - you may even find a bottle of gin lying around up at my place!

Hope you and Sandie had a great weekend.

I'm being very brave and enduring my 'time' in 'exile' - yuk

See ya'll soon!

Maggie x
