mike,

I was listening to Gardener's Question Time the other day, and they recommended layering it into your compost heap - helps it break down quicker apparently...

You probably already know that, being a keen gardener, but thought it worth mentioning!

Keith.

p.s. They also said that Alpaca droppings are very good, - and easy to apply as well, 'cos they're like chocolate drops! Not too many of them round here though, I suspect :(

Thanks Keith,I already have a large compost heap waiting to be layered.

In UK I had unlimited supply of horse manure full of brambling worms..

Indeed if I stayed in Wales would have opened a worm farm.

I know my soil here is crap, and hope that covering with manure, before the winter rains,

and little brambling worms will be so beneficial.

Maybe half garden sheep, half horse/donkey and compare

mike,

Very scientific!

Actually, the clay soil round here isn't so bad if you can manage to bulk it up with plenty of organic matter - after all they've been growing stuff in it for centuries!

Then again, you would have thought that all those centuries worth of donkey poo would have started to 'kick-in' by now...

Keith.

Keith,If only builder's rubble was bio-degradable!!Could build another house what I've dug up already.

Even considering a load of top soil for veg plot.
