Hi all, just got an email from our builders telling us we have to pay 'emlak vergysy' which turns out to be the same as our rates or council tax. can anybody tell me what sort of charge I am looking at? i have an apartment in Alsancak. And, if so, where the Municipality building is in Alsancak? hope somebody can enlighten me? thanks kcboro

Merrylegs That's one of the main much debated topics! Answer: It depends! Strongly suggest if you are seriously thinking of retiring to NC that you read as many of the forum posts as you can (there are other forums as well). Don't sell up in the UK. Rent in NC for a good while before making a final decision on staying or buying. Martin

Merrylegs Rent before you buy that way you can check out which area suits you best and you are able to be on hand to oversee any problems with either something being built or a resell property. Karen
