Plastic Surgery - can it be done properly in the TRNC

Is it possible to get plastic surgery reliably done in North Cyprus or would my sister be better going to Turkey? In April last year she had an hysterectomy, but they left he stomache in an awful mess. She was on the NHS waiting list to have it sorted and was told that she would have to wait about 3 years, as it is classed as cosmetic not life threatening. She has now been told that funding has been cut and she has been removed from the waiting list. She is devestated, please help.

A friend of mine had 2 plastic surgeries, 3-4 years ago in Lefkosa, a tummy tuck and a boob job, neither of them turned out well Im afraid to say. They were arranged through an a agency, with a reputable plastic surgeon, the tummy tuck had to be corrected and the boob job had to be done again in the UK. I dont know any thing about surgery in Turkey, but all I can say is that she shhoul be very careful about who she chooses in TRNC.

Cosmetic surgery is better in Cyprus than UK,and Turkey is Better and cheaper than Cyprus

From personal experience I would recommend Turkey, preferably Istanbul.



You could always pop over and get a free consultation and price quote.



Make sure they show you what they can do to you on the computer- they will take photos and show using a program, also look at their past patients.



I got a breast reduction 7-8 years ago and the dr I talked to here said I wouldnt be able to breast feed, but my dr in Istanbul (who is half cypriot) did a really good job and I dont have a problem with respect to that anymore.



The private hospital service is also much much better in Istanbul.

Sorry to hear about your poor sister Janey,hope things work out ok for her, my partner she works for a plastic surgeon in Portland Street London and she says that a lot of Cypriots and Greeks come to her surgery

There are some plastic surgeons in Cyprus but on the Greek side.



There are quite a few plastic surgeons in Turkey, there are about half a dozen in the ISAAPS membership book, mostly in Istanbul, a few in Ankara and 1 in Antalya

There is an excellent surgeon here called Dr Bugra he comes highly recommended, he specialises in burn victims, worth you speaking to him, my sister is coming out to have her under eyes done, he is based in Girne and his number is 0533 8673347.

Thank you so much for your replies, I have passed on Dr Bugra's no to my sister and will get her to look into Turkey (Istanbul) as well as the clinic in London, although I think her finances are to tight for London.

Dr Bugru Sadikoglu is superb and very highly rated by the top doctors on the island.



Not just for his plastic surgery skills but also for skin cancers and related ailments.

Dr Bugru removed a cyst from my face a few months ago he was so good and i know many people who have been to him for various different ops and never heard a bad word about him.

I would not hesitate to go to him if i needed anything doing.

Dr Burga isn’t in the ISAPS book but that doesn’t mean he isn’t good, just not a member of that particular Society. check the website of the Turkish Association of Plastic Surgeons or whatever it is called and find out if he is registered on the specialists register.

Would also recommend Dr Bugra, having used him quite recently. He was brilliant, and if I needed anything else.......I wouldn't look further than Girne.

He also does Botox and was featured in 'Living' Magazine.

WOW thanks for these posts guys. Ive just called him and sounds like a very nice guy! i also called the private near east hospital and spoke to a sugeon called Dr Orgun Deren who also seemed to know his stuff but Dr Bugra sounded much better!! I shall be visiting him first

I had lunch the other day with a friend who was so proud of her new boobs - done by Dr Bugra. I know of others who have tummy tucks - others mini face lifts. And two other ladies who wanted things done to their faces were told it might not be very satisfactory. Dr Bugra seems to be honest and from what I have heard wants to keephis good reputation. Have heard bad reports of some others, but not of Dr B. I think you can trust him.
