I quote from Cyprus Today." To receive road tax, drivers must take their vehicles to be weighed at the car registration office with a full tank of petrol"

Surely, the weight is shown in the Log Book, so what's this all about?

Secondly, in view of the number of people usually queuing in that office, will the police be controlling the long line of waiting vehicles,- probably extending up to the main road? Views and suggestions please.

Don't pay it or any other demands from the corruption squad, not even the penalties, plead insanity which is well recognised here as the Government suffer from the same ailment!

Nice one Richard;

once again you reduce a serious thread to banalities.

We all know you don't drive but to the rest of us a car is quite important.

As far as the CT story goes something doesn't add up

we are told there are about 150,000 cars on this side of the island (not credible i know) there is only one car registration centre (in Lefkosa) there are roughly 220 working day's per annum in the KKTC, DO THE MATHS.

newscoop,

Actually, you only need to use the Lefkoşa office for new registrations / change of ownership.

All renewals can be done at local offices.

Interesting figures though!

Keith.

Warbabies and whoever else this may concern

I watched a program the other night on "genc tv"

Yes its correct that cars must be weight eith a full tank before taxing,but weighing is done once,at first registery.Dont usualy need to weight it every time tax is due.

I will ring up and find out tomorrow if the new rule is for new registerys or for all cars on the road

keithcaley;

read the article.

If (big if) it is correct then we are looking at Lefkosa every year.

I don't believe it but then again we are talking about North Cyprus!

Road Tax continued.

Yorgozlu. Were you able to find out anything about the Cyprus Today article, which stated that vehicles must be weighed, with a full tank of fuel, before the owner applied for Road Tax?

Would appreciate any useful advice,- thanks.

warbabies

Just rung them up!

Yes,it is a one of,when you first register your vehicle.Like before,only you must have your tank full at the time of weighing it.Afterwards,it would be same as usual,

I already have a car that is registered,if you are in that category as well,no effect on us

Hope the info helps and sorry for being late
