Please describe the act for me. I have seen a sand-dance before and I wet myself laughing

Vaughan I can provide pampers for a small cost ! Or we could always insert a catheter !!! Can't have you wetting yourself in public.

The sand dance I saw involved two men in nightshirts and pith-helmets shuffle-dancing in sand to an Egyptian sounding piece of music. Not funny? You had to be there....

Vaughan,

That would be Wilson, Keppel and Betty.

The two chaps were Wilson and Keppel of course (even I worked that out!), and they had several Betties (Bettys?) over the years, I think that they kept wearing 'em out...

My favourite one was set to the tune known as 'In a Persian Garden' - which I think was really "Ballet Egyptien" by Luigini. I couldn't find WK+B doing this particular one, but everybody and his dog have had a go, with varying success: -

Hope that you're still dry!

Brinsley,

There's something about the sand dance that attracts people with zero talent to 'have a go' - I hasten to add that I do not include the subject of the initial post in this!

It's a bit like the 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies' from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite - it must be the scent of ritual humiliation that draws staid accountants and their dour assistants, or overweight, humourless, 'Serious Crime Squad Detectives' to don Tutu's and cavort in front of a select audience...

Excruciating! - but priceless...

Keith.
