I wonder if anyone else has experienced virus attacks today? My three anti virus programs have been on over drive stopping everything, I hope! Richard

Richard When I check my anti-virus, it often reports up to 5000 attacks a day. That's on a quiet day!

Dear Gisomo re msg 5 You mean DoS attack - Denial of Service.. You mean one Mac managed to bring down Nige's board? Blimey they must be more powerful than I thought....! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack If the source is known the board admins can send their logs as proof and the culprits can be charged with a criminal offence.

Very interesting Mark, read it, didn't understand it, can you explain the difference between a DoS and a DDoS attack, please?

Please be careful of this, we had a big problem with computer virus last week, spyware or something, we called Steve the guy on here who advertises and he kindly came round to install a free anti-virus called NVG but it wasn't enough! We had to in the end with the help of our wonderful next door neighbour and a few more of his fellow student friends at GAU delete absolutely everything and re-install everything, it took ages but what a difference! The laptop is much faster now and we have installed Norton anti-virus which every time I now log in tells me everything is working properly and the computer is safe and protected against viruses, worms and spyware... There was a message on the radio and in the newspapers last week that a lot of viruses in Turkey and Cyprus are affecting many people's computers so please make sure you have a good anti virus installed and that it is updated!
