You can't exactly hide a treadmill in the back of your car when coming across the border!! We saw some there as well but ended up paying a little extra and buying a very good one in Lefkosa and best of all they come out and service it when you ring them and don't charge us!

Did you all manage to get the treadmills then? I am hoping to buy one as well from Lefkosa but dont know from which shops or how much. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

The place next to pools'R'us on the Lapta - Alsancak border stocks that sort of gear - it's a bit of a weird mix, they sell kitchen and bathroom equipment, and running machines! - Their main branch is in Gazimağusa, so if they haven't got what you're looking for, they can probably get it sent over.

I went all the way to Gazimağusa to buy a fitted sink unit, and they said 'try our new shop in Alsancak' - I never even knew it was there! - and it's only 200 meters up the road!

They do seem to give a discount if you haggle, so I should imagine that you will do OK...

Ring this chap: Sunalp 0533 864 0666. His english is super so no problem there. He owns a shop in Lefkosa and I bought a treadmill and an elliptical trainer from him a few years ago and to this day he will get his service dept to come and service the machine when we ring him.



Alternatively directions to his shop, though he isn't always there and the staff speak a little english but you can always ask them to get him on the phone.



At the big roundabout as you come down the mountain with the large monument, turn left onto famagusta road. Go up to the 3rd set of lights and turn right, as you turn you should see TOFAS on the corner, Levent/fiat dealer. Follow road to 2nd roundabout and turn right. Bus station is now on left. Turn left (maybe 1st), there is a small supermarket on the corner. Shop is on left about 30 yards up.
