I think with this sort of heat you will only be circulating it round the room, I turn mine off and put the a/c on

for some respite from it

i have been using them here in turkey for about 5 yrs and do not want to be without them there quite, keep the air moving and if it gets hot put the AC on i think they use about the same lecky as a light so its got to be worth it much better then the AC running for hours

Must be 'Bob the Builder' calling! Next, you'll be advising people to call out your company to change plug fuses otherwise not covered by insurance! I think not, seen to many Westerns!

Elektrokur and Just, uppersite 1001, Girne. Or try Lefkoşa the next time you are there.

They are very good and useful.

Well said Gates. You got in before I did. I was going to say that 'Bracey Builders' are a registered company. Tax and National Insurance here is expensive, far dearer than the UK based on the minimum wage. Unfortunately, the work permit holders and businesses here have to charge more to cover this.

Agree with what andres4232 said, we wouldn't be with out our ceiling fans. Okay it is a little hot now and the ac has to go on but leading up to this last week, we were using only the fans and yes they are much cheaper to run than ac's.

harita, yes they cut the rose out and put the fan up with light already in the fan , you can have fan running all night and turn the light off via remote control, theres also a switch on the fan for winter so it forces warm air downwards . it all fits into your existing light fittings.

Just bought the most basic ceiling fan from Elektrokur. It has a wall mounted control unit with 5 speeds and cost 70TL.

I have very high sloping ceilings, bought my fans from the south, superhome diy..at around 100 euros...big 52 inchers with remote control, dimming lights etc etc. they are 3 bladed, and silent, moving a huge amount of air at night around you allowing you to perspire freely. No need to run the aircon all night now, just for the 20 mins before bedtime.

Make sure you get the ceiling fans with the remote controls, there is nothing worse than deciding who is going to get out of bed during the night to turn it up, down, on or off!!

Ours are like Elkiton's, large blades and circulate the air really well. Got ours over the border, if you want the details I will be happy to find the receipt and give you directions.

Make sure you get someone to fit them properly, there is nothing worse than a 'wobbling' fan.

we just got some in the south for 45 euros each, (and they are not horrible cheap ones)

we got them from the shop that sells everything just past the crossing, has loads of stuff outside, sorry i can't remember its name. they also have a lot of choice in superhome at the moment.

Went to Elektrokur was quoted for the remote controlled fan .. €165 .. 340TL .. £136 ..

Price for 7 .. 2210TL .. £920 which equates to £131/fan

Fitting special price 40TL (60TL if only 1 fan) ..

rowlo .. Think you have £'s & TL mixed up ..
