Yes, and the price I paid then was £3.99. Try reading 30 Hot Days by M.A.Birand. I told you I've been here a very long time!

I read it last year. Very interesting and brave woman. I believe she and her sister are

still alive and living in N.Cyprus. Yes, it is shocking too, and those who were living at the

time will tell you similar accounts.

You would enjoy that one as it's written in tabloid fashion, to be expected from an ex Daily Express hack!

I have read it and like you cried. Coming from Ireland I found it so sad but the sheer tenacity of the lady days it all. When in that situation would we all do what we can. She had a vocation and used it and thank god she did. You know thank god most of you have never been the victims of war like that. I have seen war in Ireland and people like that are full on. However I do admire her and I hope her sisters live in peace xxxxxx

great book and just another herione in the world of nursing. Florence Nightingale, Edith Cavel and many others. It was because of women like these that I started nursing. But my goodness it takes a really special person to be like these women.

I know that some T.C.s could understand, and speak Greek, as she says in her book,

but hardly any G.C's could know any Turkish. To me, that says a lot.

Rowlo

Great book never thought I would read a book about Cyprus and find that the author came over to England to work for Lancashire County Council at Preston which is about 20 mins from my home small world or what but sadly as the book tells us still a bad world for many.

Keep posting

Keep smiling

i read it a short time ago when i got it free with the genocide files but sadly when i posted about it i got a lot of negative postings. i thought the book was so sad and i can't see why people have to rubbish it and say it's untrue. it was a very moving book and i felt an overwhelming sadness for the people here at that time and i too would love to meet such a great human being. it's nice to see some positve postings this time. i hope no one starts to pull it all about again.
