(with apologies to N.N) Just returned from great fortnight Despite the heat, we decided to visit the ancient site of Vrissin at Acupulco. Surprise, surprise - no-one there knew where it was! We persevered, and eventually found access to the ruins of 2000 B.C If anyone is interested in such archeological stuff, we can now give you instructions on how to get there. Also, we really enjoyed Mardo's icecream, and the Village Bistro in TBV is now doing fish, delicious kofte, and BBQ all set up to start shish any day.

Entering through second, unmanned entrance, follow the track to the restaurant and park beside it. Go round the back of the restaurant through the storage place and turn left. Walk over the grass to the sea and the ruins are there. Not a lot to see, but they are mentioned in the guide books. You can see a bit of them from the window of the restaurant. Tell the security at gate you are going to see Vrissi. They probably won't understand but eventually let you through. It is free, and sort of "protected" though there was nothing to explain about it. Salamis was like that too when I lived there in 2000 - although much more impressive. You can also get through the unmanned gate (2nd entrance) which is closer and easier.

No, not that one! We came out by an unmanned gate exiting from Acupulco further round towards Golf Club end, onto main road. It did occur to us that it seemed one could use their splendid beach undetected (not that we would, of course!)
