David

even worse we have just been asked to pay the KDV for our apartment that isn't even finished yet,, !! i think Imperial have got the cheek of the devil..

I have emailed Mine Konat to get her take on the situation although there has been loads of talk about the KDV now being required at key hand over stage on the VO BB there is a thread saying don't pay until transfer of deeds.

We are holding off as we don't have the keys (as it's still not finished) ..

You tell your builder you will pay it when

a) He shows you the receipt from the tax office that he has actually paid the VAT,

AND

b) When he is ready to transfer the title deeds to your name.

If he tells you that you have to pay it now according to the law, ask him to tell you exactly which law (the number and year) and which paragraph and you will look into it and give him your answer in 48 hours. We shall be all wiser if we know this so called law that demands the VAT now.

Hi Ismet,

As you will see from my earlier post we have also been asked to pay the KDV ASAP as "according to the new law we have to" as i stated above my apartment is not even finished and we do not have the keys we have just ignored the email from our builders so far and are waiting for Mine Konat to give us her "opinion" on what we should do.

Katma= Added

Deger= Value

Vergisi= Tax

DO NOT PAY YOUR KDV until you have your Kocan, and you see the receipt from your construction company confirming that they have paid it first!

I took advise from, ELKO, I quoted what he wrote and the construction company backed down completey, stating that I was right, and that I do not have to pay the KDV until the land had been parcelised and the Kocan was ready to be transferred .... ELKO is a very shrewd and brainy man ... take his advice my friend ....

Go directly to KIBTEK with regards the connection of the electricity, there should not be a problem. We took along our bill of sale and they connected it in our name. We paid 540 YTL.

HI ,LIVING ON MARS,

CAN YOU LET ME HAVE THE ADDRESS OF KIBTEK WHERE YOU PAID FOR YOUR METER TO BE INSTALLED .

OUR BUILDER HAS STATED THAT HE WILL BE TAKING OUT THE METERS AND CONNECTING US WITH JUST ONE METER SO WE WILL ALL SHARE THE ELECTRICTY BILL (6 VILLAS) HE STATES THE METERS ARE HIS AND NOT KIBTEK,CAN HE DO THIS ?

Daisy, look at the Kavanlar thread re the Electric meter purchase process, fairly recent posting near the end.
