For those of you old enough to be around when he was young, the one and only Paul Anka is in North Cyprus on Saturday night at the Rocks casino

And you still won't be able to see him unless you book 2 nights at the Rocks. It is for guests only.

I think its a disgrace, why if we pay for tickets we are not allowed to go and see these stars,

and as for paying to stay at the Rocks for 2 nights only to get to see them.

Its a sham

I think Paul Anka is a very talented Singer/Writer

That place is getting too big for its boots rememer its in the TRNC and its not the Ritz of London

How dare they state you stay 2 nights then you can see all of our wonderful guests BIG DEAL

Sorry Mr. Anka would have loved to see you, but this pompous lot where you are performing say no.

Sheila. You are so right. It`s the last place I will stay or indeed recommend anyone to. Is it owned by Greek Cypriots I wonder!!!! Everyone is trying to shove us all on the back shelf.

Whistler

When my Sister and I stayed at the Dome each year (12 years) we watched the Rocks when it was being built and on their opening night, we were Invited, looked more like the Italian Mafia Mob than the Cyps I think its Multi Joint owners, but there was a definate Godfather feeling to it. Mind you they were a good Looking Bunch )

All suited and Booted which made a lovely change. )

The original Rocks WAS owned by Greek Cypriots before 1974. It was called the Hespirides then.

Sheila,

Re Msg 4 - As far as I am aware they have not made tickets available to the general public so I don't see how you may be able to pay for tickets and then not be able to go. The event, with a weekend's stay, is being marketed as a package. Given that the Rocks is actually the Ritz of Cyprus (at least as perceived by Turkish Society) then they're obviously marketing the package at a certain audience. By the way, this is not the first time they have done this. However, in the past they have brought over Turkish singers of fame equivalent to a Dean Martin or a Kylie Minogue (eg Ibrahim Tatlises or Ebru Gundes).

Re Msg 6: The Rocks is owned outright by a Turkish Cypriot who commissioned the construction of the new wing and the renovation of the old one at huge cost.

The Rocks have booked the act and can do whatever they like, they are entitled to invite whoever they want and introduce any sort of ticketing policy.

The two night stay is TL250 per person per night and it includes dinner and the Paul Anka show. They have "hoicked" up the price from TL195 per per per night (but it does include dinner).

I thought you could buy tickets without staying there, I will get in touch with them and find out what the situation is.

I don't think just over a hundred pounds for two night stay with meal and Paul Anka is particularly expensive.

If you went to Vegas you would pay a lot more than that.

Gordon

No I havent got Tickets but I would love to have, but I think we should be able to buy them without having to stay 2 nights, havent got that sort of money, but then again we miss out on the good stars.

Petez I agree with you its not expensive to stay for the package and see good stars, but as you say that was in London and I used to go to loads of Live Concerts but then I was working and could afford to go.

So if any kind hearts out there who would like to get me ticket I will be so happy )

Msg 13.... a two night stay, even for one person, is TL500 and that is just a tad over the £100 that you suggest, more like £220. Living here we do not necessarily want to stay two nights. I went to try and book one night but they would not allow me to... they would have still gained TL500 from me but they wanted TL1,000. I have tickets to see the show so their loss. I am staying elsewhere.

Ok, I have got this information from the Rocks Hotel itself.

You can buy a ticket just for the show and dinner for 220tl

or you can stay for 2 nights for 250tl

You can call them on +392 815 2238 and tell them I told you.

Hope that helps.

PS it should be a good show!
