Does anyone know if the failure of mail to arrive, is still being investigated? We've quite recently had a birthday in the family, and know that mail was posted in UK, very early in July,- but nothing has arrived here!!

Are others still experiencing this problem?

i always used to get my parcels but not letters but since January this year a high amount have not arrived so i have stopped using ebay as i was putting in so many claims. as far as i know there were investigations being carried out in the uk independantly and via royal mail. cyprus today promised to report the findings but haven't seen anything updated yet. this was quite some time ago so it looks like its been forgotton. it's very frustrating as i haven't received letters for nearly 2 years and only received about 50% of cards last christmas. the only way to guarantee arrival is to send registered post but this is expensive. no other country is affected as mail from anywhere else arrives very quickly. here in north cyprus we cannot do anything as royal mail will not deal with you and answer questions unless you are resident in the uk. i have already tried.

Hi I have been here nearly five years, and the first year and half I received most of the mail which was sent from the UK but alas nothing since. I have also just had a Birthday and not one card arrived although my family registered them they did not arrive, the on going enquiry well who knows as nothing has been in the papers about it, so look on it that we are a forgotten Country.

I think its a dreadul state of affairs.

We did the usual testing by getting people who were going back to the UK to post to different adresses but not one out of 10 arrived.

I have also had birthday cards (and a present) not arrive but a small wheeze that does work is whatever you are having posted out (cards and letters only) then tell people to enclose them in a brown envelope and if possible print the envelope so that it looks more official... that has worked for me. Also, any sort of present, get it registered and that usually arrives too. Hope this helps.

hi Sheila

that's terrible if not even registered post arrived. i must admit normally if i do get anything sent registered it does arrive and i would suggest that you get whoever sent it to log an enquiry with royal mail as reg post isn't cheap and that is supposed to be a guarantee.

we must where ever possible bring this to royal mails attention or they will just think we've forgotton about it.

My sister works for RM in Peterborough.

Last year she caught a guy called "George" with a marker pen scrawling over the address and writing "this is not a country and is illegal".

It was a christmas card. She reported him, nothing was done, tampering with the mail!
