I emailed Steve Dickinson for a quote on Car Insurance and never got a reply!!

I emailed Chrys at the Business Centre Alsancak and got an immediate response and further more emails this week to answer all my questions. She can arrange house inurance as well. Please try her. She is more than helpful and competitive.

i'd read the policy BEFORE you buy and ask if things like subsidence (ie the building starts to crack due to ground movement), computers, jewellery etc are covered.......

Hi

We have been using Can Sigorta for years and have checked their policies carefully and made sure all relevant risks covered. Also for car insurance and goods shipped here on 2 different occasions. They have always been efficient and competatively priced. Try to contact Carol Blackwell Gibbs in Nicosia office at carol@cansigorta.com although Songul at Famagusta office is really helpful too and speaks good english.

They say you can tell how good your insurance is when you need to claim - well we had a no fault car accident and the service was brilliant.

Try Halil Atakan,he's based in Nicosia but will travel anywhere to meet you.Just done our house insurance and it was £110 for buildings and contents and covers electrical stuff etc including the pool pump.Car insurance was 120YTL cheaper than Can Sigorta who I had used for 4 years and I get more coverage and there's no excess either.

If you are in any doubt ,use a company based in UK,and therefore you are covered by the UK legal system,as the contract is signed with the company in London rather than a subsiduary.

Bear in mind tho they are round about double the cost you would pay for a NC based company.

Natalie,

Unsubstantiated rumours about people are bad enough, but to openly cast doubt on a businessmans finances can do him nothing but harm.

I respectfully suggest that you might want to reconsider your posting.

As far as I'm aware Steve's business is fine and given that it's Kibris Sigorta who pays out in the event of a claim, his personal finances are utterly irrelevant.

I have to question the motives of posting, as Vaughn puts it, unsubstantiated rumours which the poster admits were "heard through the preverbical [sic] grapevine". Given the comments could be construed as detrimental to Steve's business they may be actionable as defamation so I second Vaughn's suggestion that the poster reconsiders her posting.

Lambousa Gordon et al, I agree re msg 15, where is the evidence of your remark Natalie?? I have always found Steve to be excellent as regards to all our insurance matters. How can you post something like that on a public forum?

msg 15, Natalie said "Heard through the preverbical grape vine, that Steve maybe having financial problems right now!!! "

You wouldn't like to tell us who told you these lies would you Natalie? It wasn't an insurance agent by any chance?

It doesn't make any difference whether we are BIG buddies of Steve or not. Promoting gossip is almost always malicious and certainly irresponsible. There is no such thing as "the grapevine". Gossip is passed from person to person.

I would respectfully ask natalie to reveal her source or withdraw her post.

Re Msg 23: It's well known that Steve and I are friends.

I fail to see how that impacts on what I posted however, namely that Kibris Sigorta - and not Steve - pay out in the event of a claim.

I'm not sure that we will get an answer from natalie about the source of her outrageous gossip, or a retraction of it.

I do know that there are obviously some members of this board who are either quite clearly unaware of the damage that can be done by this sort of posting, or are perfectly aware and are clearly malicious in intent.

I would hope that there are other board members who, although they might not know Steve, or his business dealings, would condemn this sort of thing on principle.

Msg 26, I agree with Vaughan. Could this be anything to do with the fact that Steve is selling highly competitive flight tickets which you can ring Soner on 0542 880 6077 for a quote?

Mal,

It could be that or it could be that they are being posted by a competitor in the insurance business who may offer lower premiums but give an inferior level of cover and claims resolution and who is losing business to Steve (0542 873 1231) who personally sees every claim through to settlement.

Either that or natalie is just a nasty rumour-monger.

Rumors like message 15, should not be allowed on this forum. I have found Steve to be a very straight forward and helpful person, and a good guy.

But I will say one thing don,t f--k with NN when it comes to insurance, he may be passing his time now talking about cooking sauces, and every other cafe in TRNC,on Cyprus 44 but when it comes to insurance he,s the best.

I can tell you now Steve Dickinson is one of the most respected and trustworthy business men on this Island and I will also say a very good friend, so can Natalie back up her statement or apologize, that’s of course if she has any morals or ethics, but I would assume she is more than likely just to be a despicable low life gossip monger, with nothing more meaningful in life to do but to make offensive and libelous remarks against a very well respected member of this community.

I’m appalled that the moderators allowed such a derogatory posting.

I can tell you about my dealings with Steve Dickinson.I have contacted him on 2 occasions about insurance quotes. On neither occasion have I received the courtesy of a reply. If he cannot bother to respond to an enquiry I would not really want to do business with him as I would not be confident when making a claim.. This is FACT not rumour or heresay.

What email address did you use and when did you use it? I say this because some time ago there was an incident which led to Steve losing his web domain and the email addresses along with it.
