Cronos. Must be something about the teachings of the eastern orthodox churches, the language and sentiment are similar to that often heard in former Yugoslavia during the civil war, and encouraged such atrocities against the Moslem population. " God wills it"

Sounds quite a reasonable point of view. If you're a pin brained fascist that is. Just shows how deep the brainwashing has gone. Consolment and forgiveness? The comcept is about as alien as help and cooperation. The trotting out of list of things that people didn't agree with or condone in the past, is hardly the way forward. Irrespective of who stole what from whom. The mental age of this standpoint reflects a retarded 6 year who can (unfortunately) write, and more unfortunately be published. Sorry ,but the accusations are "Old hat" what is needed are suggustions and methods to go forward. This sort of stuff just keeps the hatred on the boil and shows no indication of reconciliation only the wish to subjugate and punish. Sadly the attitide exists on both sides. Is t only the british who can forget. Do you hear creis of revenge on Eoka members from families of british soldiers killed by terrorist attrocities? What a sick world to live in. Time to grow up and accept the Status Quo.

2strkokewarren Interesting how you talk about the bus bombers and the letter writer as two sides of the same coin. The acts committed on the Bosnians and also in some cases by them, were not committed by fanatical bombers but by their neighbours, teachers ,bakers, friends, who were given moral authority from God to do so,by the church in the same way as the bombers you speak of were given the same ,in their mind that is, authority . I have changed "Must be something about the teachings of the eastern orthodox churches, the language and sentiment are similar to that often heard in former Yugoslavia during the civil war, and encouraged such atrocities against the Moslem population. " God wills it" to "Must be something about the teachings of the eastern orthodox churches, the language and sentiment are similar to that often heard in former Yugoslavia during the civil war, and encouraged such atrocities against others" God wills it" Happy now,

Warren, I am certainly not pro muslem nor pro Greek orthodox. There are atrocities on both sides. I am, however pro Turkish Cypriot and anti Greek Cypriot! My comment was tongue-in-cheek as I know that the GC's should look in their own backyard when complaining about the state of Greek Orthodox churches in the north, as I know that there are mosques in the RoC that are destroyed as well. I think the London bombing atrocity was carried out by 'British' moslems?

Dear Dunsterbruce re 5/ 8 >I suppose all the mosques in RoC are in pristine condition?< > I know that the GC's should look in their own backyard when complaining about the state of Greek Orthodox churches in the north, as I know that there are mosques in the RoC that are destroyed as well. < Please find me some official, non partisan, comments of mass desecration of Mosques in the "rump" RoC. Not that it is nearly a important as the killings, mass ethnic cleansing, etc.

6m The way the GCs complain about the desecrated churches in the North not one single mosque on the dark side should be spoiled. ('People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones' is the saying that springs to mind) I agree that desecration of religious buildings is wrong, but unfortunately these things happen in war zones all over the world. There was no physical conflict south of the Atilla line so whats the excuse?

No excuse... which is why your contention re the Mosques isn't correct.. There's 101 of them in the "rump" RoC

Plectrum....maybe if the embargo was lifted and TRNC could trade freely then they would have the funds to renovate the GC churches left behind?
