As reported in Cyprus today -amnesty for illegal cars -those people who have cars they have not paid duty on ,that are between 5 and 25 years old can now do so on a 60% reduction.



Thank you so much TRNC government from all us who have been honest paid our duty (exorbitant as it was) we have now to suffer another kick in the teeth.



Moral of this story dodge paying anything , work illegal, it will be OK because they will give you a get out at some time.



This just makes the Hippo's weekend especially as rain stopped play at Edgbaston

I must admit Hippo, we're gutted too if this is true. They doubled the tax about two days before we were due to pay ours. there was no alternative, we had to pay up, double, or ship the car back.

I wonder if the amnesty will incude the cars that have been impounded??? Or have they been sold on !!!!



Brinsley, even so, I don't class myself as being mentally retarded for living here, I love it here.

Haven't the government ministers in Uk been ripping off the tax payers???? I think you'll find it's the same wherever you live, it's just that some of them get caught out red handed.

I am annoyed about them giving a discount now, but as its too late not much we can do about it. but the only thing I would say is

No one seems to know from one week to another what they have to pay for certain thing ie Car Tax etc

Of course it could be a cunning plan to flush those non payers out -get them to register then change the law.
