The show was fantastic. Started with a great firework display. He was on stage for 1 hour with about 4 encores. Musicians were top class and it was a really good show... hope we get many, many more.

An international mega-star visits NC, I would have expected a bigger response on NC44, but then, he didn't do his homework - he mustn't have realised that he was clashing dates with JH's Funky Monkey.

I wonder if Anka had to pay advance KDV on ticket sales or, had to get a work permit?

BUT, then (shoot me if I'm wrong) I'll bet the audience was (majority) TC

All well and good but the tickets were not available to the general public, only guests staying a minimum of 2 nights at Rocks.

The exact situation will occur next week with Gloria Gaynor, so its not really something to shout about really.

Wonder how many people actually saw the show?

CJ , I spoke directly with the hotel and you could buy tickets for Paul Anka without staying 2 nights.

I would be interested to know who told you, you had to stay there?

Petez, I think it was advertised in the Cyprus Today that concert was for guests as the Rocks Hotel with a minimum stay of 2 nights. Almost sure. Had I known you could just purchase a ticket I would certainly have tried to go along with many others no doubt.

Maybe ticket sales were low and they had a change of heart...

Petez, I think you might be right that ticket sales were low.

I see the question was raised earlier by CJTill of how many saw the show, but no-one has answered.

Perhaps CarrieRBag could enlighten us?

Yo know its all so sad Sper stars make the effort to limited audiences. Only 3 years ago Billy Paul came here no advertising. I agree most wont have geard these names bt theexpats know and a lot wont pay unless its kariokie I know I spelt it wong. Audiece 200 mostly government ministers. Wat incentive. Get DJ teisito and te young ones flock there.Maybe a bit moreresearch about thier target audience xxxxxxxx

The audience of about 200 was mainly the good and great of Turkish society, hardly a Brit in sight, see the report in the Cyprus Star on Friday.

I would say there were several hundred at the show, mainly TCs but several ex-pats too. If people had REALLY wanted to go, they should have contacted the hotel to find out if tickets would be on sale without having to stay at the hotel. This usually happens nearer the date of the concert but depends on ticket sales. I am sure it was posted on here BEFORE the concert that tickets were available at TL220.

TL220 is approx £87 and I paid €90 to see Rev Al Green in Spain so I guess its all relative. El Divo are commanding €120 per ticket.

This ex-pat obviously enjoyed the concer too.

We have approached the hotel several times for Gloria Gaynor tickets but each time have been told it is for guests of the hotel only so we would have to stay 2 nights.

Way to early yet to approach hotel, I believe the PA tickets only became available about 48/72 hrs before the concert. Try again nearer the time.
