Have been down this route before myself, many of those advertised are ex-rental and not properly cared for( ie Very rarely flushed or serviced- beached on Rocks and course sand).

Frustrated i bought from a dealer, Go up the hill towards Lefkosia (From Girne), past the building with the Absolut hoarding and the showroom is on the left, Mustafa is very straight forward, speaks very good English and has a good selection of 2nd hand PWC in the basement garage, plus he is an approved technician for Seedoo and Yamaha.

The other dealer here is of course Maxuum who keeps all of his 2nd hand stock outside in all weathers.

i think that my old ski is being advertised in the Auto Salim(Local Autotrader), not sure of the hours on the engine now but i sold it with 8, and flushed it after every use 2007 Yamaha GP1300R bit of a wet pants moment at 80 mph with no brakes.

Hi Robbo

What side of town have you purchased ?

We are bahceli and will only be using the jet ski when in residence 4/5 time a year,

Happy to 'jet share' if you are in the same situation, problem is finding some where to keep the darn thing, unfortunately i do not have a garage or secure facility on my development to keep it away from prying eyes

What a pity that these nosiy dangerous 'craft', in the hands of unskilled yobs are likely to be terrorising beach lovers and sea swimmers in North Cyprus, as they do at other notorious Mediterranean resorts. Had hoped that we came here to escape them and motor scooters. Sadly, the TRNC seems to be intent on going the way of popular mass tourism. Keep indirect flights I'd say.

That should stir things up a bit!

Jet Ski s can be dangerous in the wrong hands, However as for noise

and danger, there is far more noise and dangerous vehicles on the roads

of the trnc, drove through Girne town centre last week and it was like

being in the whacky races, got cut up more times in one hour than I have in

one year over here . having said that love the trnc and the people.

Agree Robbo ... but the problem with jet skis (odd name, they are not jet powered nor are they skis) is that they slaughter endangered wildlife species, especially, in North Cyprus, i.e. monk seals, green turtles and loggerhead turtles. Hundreds of these protected creatures are found injured, with severed limbs, suffering a slow death just because they have journeyed to their traditional nesting beaches e.g. Aligadi, to lay their eggs, only to be dismembered and eventually killed by jet ski show offs.

These jet ski Johnnies have no knowledge, no care, no understanding and no compassion for nature or our heritage, they just want to indulge themselves in a stupid activity that achieves nothing except burn fuel, kill animals and take a chance to show off to their mates how macho they are, how sad? Oh, and also annoy those humans on the beach seeking a little sun, peace and quiet. May they come to a rocky demise, soon.

Wow bilko - must admit I also have some reservations about jet skis. I didn't appreciate their impact on wildlife, but just feel they are best played on via a registered owner/business in a designated area - preferably at Sunset Beach Club or even further away - and not at Crystal Bay, Bacheli.

Could you not get yourself a nice little rowing boat and some fishing gear instead panhandler!

On second thoughts

Any one interested in starting 'Jet ski tours inc' happy to back such a venture might be cheaper than a speed boat and provide a healthier return on the investment over the summer season

Bilko

They are called jet skis as they are powered by a water jet, but have to agree that the majority of users here are flipping loonies, I got fed up of others cutting me up at 70mph,There is no leglslation here as to minimum age etc.

A nephew hired a supercharged (215 bhp) model from Escape Beach last year

and He's 13 .

Think of them as Motorbikes for the sea without brakes(or suspension)

Hi Robbo

If you want to let Bilko ride your bannana thats fine by me Sir

If you are interested in Jet Ski tours let me know it sounds like a plausable goer

happy to met up and dsicuss over a few Jars on the sunny side

Hi Ttoli

I have decided rather sadly to explain the definition of Jet propulsion in relation to Jet Ski's for Bilko

Oh my god pass me the sick bag !

Ready, deap breath, here goes it .......................

A Jet Ski moves through the water in the same sort of way a rocket moves through the atmosphere. But instead of using high-pressure gas to generate thrust, the craft uses a jet drive to create a powerful stream of water. In the jet drive, an impeller propels a large amount of water from underneath the craft through a steering nozzle at the rear of the craft.

Sick bag please !

Any activity in the water over the Esentepe side would be a pleasant change. Apart from the 3 ferries coming over from/going to Turkey and the occasional tanker heading for the power station we see nothing at all. Its got to be the most boring stretch of water in the world. We get really excited when we see a fishing boat go past, sad aren't we!!

Suntan

Only half the story again ?

Breaking the speed limit without reason !, I have told you before about bringing in the contraband by fast speed boat, keep the speed down, they only do that in the movies !

Alternatively you could hire out my Jet Ski's

Hi Bilko

i have to come to the defence of jetskis even though i personally think they are not so cool as you cant really fish from them...ive tried!

if wildlife is found dismembered it is highly unlikely to have been caused by a jetski as the propeller (actually an impeller) is inside the body of the vehicle and is more likely to have been caused by a boat. the victim of a collision with a jetski will have an exceptionally nasty bump on its head!

i endorse the joys of kayaking personally as one can tour, fish or surf in them and they dont make any noise.

enjoy your beach experience one and all

Ho Robbo

Yes mate up 4 Jet share no worries, especially if you have a villa with garaging

Paragliding, top idea !, market forces 'summer only' ( public liability insurance issues, maybe !)

When are you going over, maybe we should meet up, im over next week

If your Villa isnt ready for another year or so you can always rent my apartment ,its on a very small select development with facilities, couldnt get much closer to the beach, although it is a few miles out of town

Kind Regards

Hi pan was over in the sunnyside only a few weeks ago, not sure when over again it all depends on the finish of villa, sorry pan no garage but a lot of land. You can store a ski at sun set beach, think it was £300 a year this includes

backflushing facilities and launching pad. Thanks for offer of apartment we

have some friends whom we rent off when need to,

PS we maybe could erect a shed when villa is finised,

from crystal bay, it will take you virtually an hour to get to lapta - done it and traffic when you hit kyrenia and beyond is not pleasant

sunset beach great for a day out though!

I've just seen two jet skis for sale on the side of the main road by Sams Place in Alsancak.

The weather is great today. According to my car it was 30 degrees in Lefkosa and 24 degrees in Kyrenia with a gentle breeze.
