Is it true, as I have read, pasted below. RoC ceased to exist in 1959. If so, how did they join the EU as RoC and a divided Island. Am I totally wrong, can some one please enlighten me. I try to keep up with all the claims and counter claims and maintain a neutral stance.

"Although the Republic of Cyprus as described in the 1959 agreements is no longer there, Greek Cypriots continue to enjoy this title and international recognition while the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, a fully democratic government representing Turkish Cypriots, still suffers under an unfair political and economic blockade."

It all depends on your viewpoint, doesn't it. Since the Republic of Cyprus involves Turkish Cypriot participation in government, it has ceased to be that since 1963 in anyone's language.

However, the Greek Cypriots told the world that the Turkish Cypriots didn't want to play. Both sides were at fault, but one was better than the other at propaganda.
