During the month of August, Mars will be closer to earth than its ever been. A mere 34,649,589 miles away. Its a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to see Mars. At the end of August, Mars will reach its closest point to the earth and on the 27th it will be at its highest and will be as bright and as large to the naked eye, as a full moon would be. No one who is living today will ever be able to see this again. The next time something like this could happen will be inthe year 2287.

I think that thing about Mars is a hoax. If it does appear as large as the moon on the 27th I'll come back on here and grovel, but I think I'm safe!

Absolutely, indisputedly, definately Jupiter. At the moment, Venus does not rise until the early hours of the morning. Fiona

I didnt see it - but i can tell you.. If it was a green light around hte object then it was a comet that has been passing through earths orbit recently.. But if it was a orange or yellow glaze, then it would be venus.
