The first fixture, away to Bolton will be shown live at The Paradise, Catalkoy on Saturday 5pm local time. If there is enough support we may be able to persuade Mus to make the screening of their games a regular feature throughout the season. Michael

I apologise but I can't help myself. 5 minutes on Post and I am only the second viewer, not really a confidence builder about making them regular

Forget The Big 4... We're The Most Exciting! A new survey that measured peoples heart rates at football games has done a tour of Premier League grounds last season to see which team got their fans most excited and worked up - and the winner was our very own Blackburn Rovers. 'Experts' carried out a sample of each teams fans at lives games and Rovers came out on top by one point ahead of Arsenal! Newcastle United were at the bottom (notice a pattern here? lol). So when people tell you we're just a long ball team, full of hoofers who can;t create excitement - throw this back in their face.

Katymackem, thanks for the history lesson but you seem to have conveniently forgotten that Jimmy Carter also muttered those immortal words outside the Civic Centre in Newcastle in 1973 and oh yes your Manager's a Mackem too isn't he ?!!! - let's hope he emulates the feat of that other much revered legend (on Tyneside) - Sir Lawrie McMenemy!!!

Jimmy Carter did say those words followed by "I,m very grateful to be a Geordie now" This was on the steps of the Newcastle Civic Centre and it was 1977. The nearest he got to Sunlun was When he planted a Cherry Tree at Washington Old Hall. A SMB pulled up the tree and vandalised the the memorial that same night.

Nowt like a a good saturday early evening banter down the Old Mill with the Makems just like the terraces at the SOL. Well priced ale, air conditioned enveroment with a super atmosphere even the Mags are made welcome. Get along and watch the only surviving premership club in the North east you wont be disapointed watching a revitalised side among good humoured folk. D.N

I may be a little biased: - Born in Sunderland - My uncle was Chairman of the SAFC in the 50s - Peter Reid was at my daughter's wedding - he had a good time - the training ground was nigh home in Whitburn - Cousin was Vice Chairman in 73 when they WON THE CUP~!!!!! AGAIN!!!! >>Did you know that Newcastle has gone Bankrupt - YES IT'S TRUE!!!!!! Last time someone went in the trophy cupboard to clean the silver - they left the light on!!!!! Now they can't pay the bill

msg 15 Katymackem, when Ian Porterfield scored in '73 i weren't concerned, It were just a matter of time. When Peter (Lash) Lorimer, the hardest kick in football at the time, hit the ball from 10 yards I were jumping round the house like a loon. When my wife said "he missed", I thought she were mad. Jim Montgomery got player of the year at Roker Park that year on the strength of that save, mind you, it were a belter. At the end I was gutted but when I saw Bob Stokoe acting like a big kid, it reminded of Nobby Stiles in '66. I weren't quite so pixxed off then, nearly, but not quite. I don't think The Mackem's have won owt since, have they?. Leeds are down now but we'll be back, just need shut of that baxterd Bates. Mind you, we did you a favour, sending that tosser Wise to Newcastle. Best of luck this year. Tony

Katymackem - don't embarrass yourself by trying to compare trophy cabinets with Newcastle - so you won the cup AGAIN in 1973 which gives you a grand total of TWO and no I don't think there are any European trophies in there either!!!!

Come ooooommmmm!!!!! I was in Fuertaventura celebrating Sunderland's promotion as League Champions a few years ago - Lovely cup that too. Spent the night drinking with Paul Gasgoine from Gateshead - not him, his cousin - nice bloke (with a nice wife). We sang We are The Champions for hours. Had a fab holiday too. JimmyG You surprise me - 2 is a very good number, I like 2, 2 points kept us up and the Maggies went down by 2 points!!

Katymackem - come ooommm????????? Well that's quite a claim to fame isn't it drinking with a famous geordie footballer's cousin on holiday?.... and as former league champions no doubt you'll now be dreaming of champions league!!! I'll make the point for the 2nd time, because I know you like 2 points, that Sunderland's trophy cabinet is bare compared to that of Newcastle.....end of story.

Harry, I think you are a little bemused, the only time Blackburn fans get excited is queuing up for the pies at half time!, mind you I dont blame them as they are lovely. Nick

There will be at least a dozen Mackems in the Old Mill, Ozankoy, myself included to give a good old fashioned Roker roar to be heard all the way back home, best place to be for PREMIERSHIP football ;)
