Does anyone have any experience of a qualified dentist doing such procedures in TRNC. I am being quoted £1700 for 1 tooth in UK & am curious to know if such thing can be done in TRNC.

Dawn,

That price can also be easily beaten in Istanbul but it will all depend on the amout of reconstructive surgery the patient needs. There are specialists in many of the hospitals there and some of the private hospitals in Istanbul have world-wide reputations.

Thanks Tom, but as the treatment is over some 6 months & would mean repeat visits it may work out more money in the long run. As I am in Cyprus for 12 weeks a year, it would be handy to combine the two. Have already used Serda & am happy with her as a dentist but the implants are a specialised subject. Brinsley thanks for that info, will email & see what happens.

Hi Dawn,

Stopping in Istanbul on your way to Ercan might not cost any more, if you want we can ask our people who deal with it but more important you must be happy with the treatment and the end results; 6 months implies a lot of dental work on a number of teeth the best of luck. Your comment about being specialist is a little of an under-statement - implants are on a par with reconstructive surgery.

Thanks Brinsley & Tom, my flights are already booked until next summer, so not as convenient as having it done in TRNC. 6 months means the time it takes for bone regrowth. By all means check out with "your people" as I am exploring all avenues at present. Thanks.

I've been advocating this for years, dental tourism, but the hoteliers are not interested as it requires work!

So, £1700 for one tooth in the UK over 6 months.

Just say TRNC price is £800 (Tom is correct, a lot cheaper in Turkey).

Two visits over the 6 months, airfares £600, accomodation you have (?) or take a package holiday.

That leaves you to convalesce in the sun whilst holidaying twice for just about what you'd have to pay in the UK for treatment only!

Brinsley food for thought, but my flights are already booked & paid for to TRNC until next summer, so I would have to fly from TRNC anyway as my flights are non refundable & not changable. It would still be worth it if it can be done in Istanbul & I fly back to TRNC although I need the aftercare to be onhand which is why I am reluctant to have it done in Turkey & not TRNC where I am there already & for a few weeks at a time.

I took my wife to Turkey(Hatay) and she had 28 porceliene teeth done and fitted in 4 days for 1500tl.

If anyone or any place can beat that,I'd take my hat off to them.

I have to ask her not to smile to cameras now.

Salahi

Hungary very competitive and proactive in this field, Mersin or Adana good mainland options coming from TRNC without incurring huge traveling costs.

Richard

I know ,but Hatay is very famous with its dentists and you can get flights for as little as 49tl one way.For both of us it cost less than 300tl return, and that was because we booked day before we went.

Not the most top of the range place but the dentists was funtastic. They are prepaired to put you up as there is no hotel in this particular town(kirikhan)

Was quoted 400tl for one teeth in Cyprus, got them for 55tl each there.

excellent thanks for that info bigmomma, exactly what I wanted. Mind you not a huge amount cheaper than the UK @ £1350, although I will explore all avenues including Toms reccomedation of going to Turkey.
