"shame they don't play like George Best" typical woman. I've watched football since the Stanley Matthews days and the ONLY player I have ever seen that played like George Best, was George Best

yeah, the greatest player the world has ever seen. Read his autobiography, my wife read it in a day, and she doesn't care much for football.

Message 10 - I, too, read the autobiography in a few hours. Having said that, my Dad (a lifelong Spurs supporter) always maintained that Danny Blancflower/Jimmy Greaves were the best players ever.

Congratulations Hans, you must be so proud of your guys. Despite playing a far superior team they didn't resort to clogging, well, not too much anyway.

msg 13, did ya cry at the end Jeannie, my wife did, not as much as me, but she did. I always thought Danny was better passing the hot milk, remember that. Jimmy Greaves, great goalscorer, with his feet, one of the best ever, but limited otherwise. I was gutted when he was dropped for final in '66. Was convinced Ramsey had dropped the biggest boxxock of all time. Proved wrong, again.

Minertor - yes, I cried as well. Paul says (and it was a long time ago) that, by picking Peters and Hurst, he fielded the best team. Yes, I do remember the Danny Blacnflower ad (was it Horlicks/Ovaltine?) Did you read the Jimmy Greaves autobiography? Bought it for my late Dad years ago. Can you tell that I had a Dad, 2 husbands, etc. that were football fans. Ironically, my Son hates football! Kind regards. J
